Abbots & Kinney

Abbots & Kinney is an Adelaide bakery built around pastries, cakes, bread, coffee and the pleasure of sharing food. The business began in June 2015 with its first CBD store on Pirie Street, where founder Jonny Pisanelli baked each morning in a small on-site kitchen. As demand grew, production moved to larger premises in Albert Park in 2016, supporting both the shops and a wholesale operation supplying cafés around Adelaide.

The bakery’s identity combines traditional baking craft with a contemporary visual style. Its stores bring together timber and modern materials, reflecting the brand’s interest in both the art of baking and its own creative approach to design. Pisanelli previously ran From Scratch Patisserie from 2010 to 2013, then channelled that pastry experience into Abbots & Kinney’s growth. The name draws inspiration from Abbot Kinney, the developer behind Venice of America in California, whose ambition and passion influenced the brand.
