Beaumont Common

Beaumont Common is a historic reserve in Burnside, Adelaide, first set aside in 1849 by Sir Samuel Davenport as part of the Beaumont village development for residents’ enjoyment. That long local history remains part of the appeal, with the Common continuing to provide open space within one of Adelaide’s established eastern suburbs.

The reserve retains a number of original woodland trees, including Grey Box and South Australian Blue Gum, as well as one original Native Pine. Two of the trees are listed on the National Trust Significant Tree Register, giving the site added heritage and conservation interest. Flora conservation work is also underway in parts of the Common, making it a place to appreciate native vegetation as well as to spend time outdoors.
