Why it's worth checking out
Bragg Park, also known as Ngampa Yarta or Park 5, is part of Adelaide’s North Park Lands. In North Adelaide, it is bounded by Lefevre Road, Medindie Road, Robe Terrace and Main North Road, offering a broad open-air setting for walking, running and cycling.
Its main draw for dog owners is the North Adelaide Dog Park, a lit and fenced off-leash area with plenty of room to explore. It includes separate small-dog and all-dogs sections, along with dog-sized obstacles and play structures. Shelters provide places to sit while dogs exercise. Dogs must remain under effective control and be kept at least five metres from playgrounds, or on-leash when organised sport is taking place.
For visitors without dogs, the park has an unpaved walking and running track, cycling trails and an Adelaide Park Lands trail. Its planting and biodiversity features include a large Canary Island Pine Avenue, avenues of Canary Island Palms and Norfolk Island Pines, and a River Sheoak more than 100 years old. The park is identified as a Key Biodiversity Area, adding natural interest to a practical recreation space. It is open 24 hours and suits dog owners, walkers, runners and cyclists looking for an accessible Park Lands stop close to Adelaide.
