Deep View Lookout

Deep View Lookout is a destination within Morialta Conservation Park, around 10 kilometres north-east of Adelaide. National Parks and Wildlife Service South Australia recommends walking to the lookout for views across the park, making it a worthwhile point of interest for visitors exploring the area’s trails.

The lookout sits within a broader natural setting of creek lines, woodlands, gorges and waterfalls. Morialta offers seven walking trails, ranging from easy strolls to more challenging hikes, so the visit can be shaped around a short wander or a longer bushwalking outing. The park’s landscapes change with the seasons: waterfalls are generally strongest in winter and spring, when wildflowers are also at their brightest.

There is plenty nearby for a broader day outdoors, including the First Falls Walk, picnic areas, barbecues, toilets and the Mukanthi Playspace. Wildlife sightings may include koalas, kookaburras, kangaroos and a variety of birdlife, although mobile coverage can be patchy and some trails pass close to steep cliff edges. Stay on marked paths, check conditions before setting out and be aware that the park can close during periods of extreme or catastrophic fire danger.

Deep View Lookout suits solo walkers, couples, families and groups who want a scenic nature stop close to Adelaide. Dogs are permitted on leads only in designated parts of the park, rather than throughout the reserve.
