Fergusson Square

Fergusson Square is a formal garden and park in Toorak Gardens, within the City of Burnside in Adelaide. Named for the Fergusson family of Monrieth Farm, which stood in the area during the 1850s, the square combines lawns, mature trees, flower gardens and rose gardens in a carefully laid-out setting.

Paved, tree-lined paths run from each corner towards a wisteria-covered rotunda at the centre. The square offers a mix of shaded areas beneath large trees and open grass with plenty of sunlight, making it suited to a quiet stroll, a family visit or a relaxed pause outdoors. Accessible features include pram ramps, access ramps, bench seating, a drinking fountain and shade areas.

Families can make use of the playground, which includes a modular play unit with vertical steps and a slippery dip, a nest swing, an in-ground trampoline and a rope climbing frame. The play area has rubber soft-fall surfacing. Fergusson Square is also used for wedding ceremonies and photographs, with the central rotunda and surrounding colourful gardens providing the main setting. Ceremonies can accommodate up to 50 guests, with street parking available on the four roads around the square. The park holds a 4.6 Google rating from 68 reviews.
