Henley & Grange RSL

Henley & Grange RSL is a community club in Henley Beach with live music, social events and a clear commitment to supporting veterans, ex-service personnel and their families. The club is open to the wider public, so you do not need to be ex-service or a member to visit, attend many events, dine or enjoy the facilities. Its programme includes live bands, karaoke, quiz nights, club dinners, themed events and regular entertainment, giving the venue a broader social focus than its RSL name might suggest.

There is plenty happening beyond the stage. Weekly members draws, joker draws, meat tray raffles and other community raffles bring members and visitors together, while happy hour offers discounted drinks at selected times. The club also hosts ANZAC Day and Remembrance Day services and other commemorative activities, reflecting its role in honouring veterans and their service. For those looking for an ongoing connection rather than a one-off visit, the club offers Service Membership for eligible current and former Defence Force personnel, as well as Affiliate Membership for community members who support the RSL’s values.

The atmosphere is intended to be relaxed, friendly and inclusive, with a social space, bar, dining facilities and recreational activities. Regular wellbeing activities include a Tuesday morning beach walk followed by light exercise, coffee and conversation, Thursday golf at Glanville Golf Course, and Saturday morning chair yoga. These activities suit people who want to meet others through a shared interest, whether they are veterans, local residents, families or visitors from Henley Beach, Grange and Adelaide’s western suburbs. Solo visitors are also catered for through the club’s emphasis on companionship and easy social connection.

The club has a long local history. Henley and Grange RSL began in 1924, moved to the former Henley Kiosk in Henley Square in 1947, and relocated to its current clubrooms in 1974. The building was extended and substantially renovated in 2022. Today, that history sits alongside a contemporary community role: a place for live entertainment, gatherings, commemorative services, fundraising and veteran support. For dining, Thursday meals require pre-ordering by 1pm on the Wednesday before, so checking the club’s current arrangements is worthwhile before visiting.
