Perrymans Bakery

Perryman’s Bakery brings a long-running North Adelaide baking tradition to Adelaide. Baking has taken place at 54 Tynte Street almost continuously since the early 1850s, while the Perryman family established the bakery in 1925. The business remained with the family for three generations before changing hands in 2011, and its baking continues to draw on original German family recipes.

The bakery makes bread and savouries onsite daily, using premium ingredients including locally sourced free-range eggs, flour, vegetables, dairy and meats. Its bread range centres on artisan sourdough and ciabatta, with rolls, viennas, baguettes and sandwich loaves baked fresh from Monday to Sunday. The savoury selection includes pies, pasties, sausage rolls, quiches and vegetarian options, with the Thai red curry, pork and lime pie highlighted as a limited-time special on the site.

For something sweet, Perryman’s is known for its Gingerbread Babies and offers cakes for birthdays and other celebrations, which can be personalised with a message and chosen decoration. Catering is available for corporate and private functions, including cocktail savouries, sweets and platters. With online ordering, in-store purchases and delivery options noted for catering orders, it suits locals picking up breakfast or a treat, as well as families, workplaces and hosts organising food for a gathering.
