Semaphore Port Adelaide RSL Club

Semaphore Port Adelaide RSL is a community-focused club near the Semaphore foreshore, bringing together veterans, their families and the wider public. It offers a welcoming place to eat, have a drink, attend events and connect with the local community, while keeping the service and sacrifice of Australian veterans at its centre.

The club’s programme includes regular specials and activities such as a members’ draw, meat raffles, live music, presentations, quiz nights, Parmi & Pint events and a Sunday roast. Dining is available on selected days, with the kitchen open for dinner on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and for lunch on Sunday. For larger gatherings, the Thomas Currie “Diver” Derrick Memorial Hall is available for hire. The hall can cater for up to 150 guests, while the kitchen can prepare set menus for functions and events according to their requirements. That makes the club a practical option for community occasions, commemorations and group celebrations, rather than only a casual stop for a meal.

The RSL also has a substantial local history. Its Semaphore and Port Adelaide sub-branch was formally established in 1923, following years of support for service personnel from the area. The club’s honour roll and historical archive record that ongoing connection, including local efforts to farewell troops, welcome returning personnel and support veterans and military causes.
