The Suburban Brew - Goodwood Taproom

The Suburban Brew’s OG Goodwood Taproom is a neighbourhood craft beer bar on Goodwood Road, around 3km south of Adelaide’s CBD. Open since 2020, it was established as Adelaide’s original independent craft brewery taproom and has the feel of a local pub rather than a formal beer hall: relaxed, comfortable and centred on good beer and regular visits. The venue is a natural stop for locals, inner-south visitors and anyone exploring Goodwood’s independent shops, cafés and restaurants.

Beer is the main draw, with the Suburban Brew core range available on tap, alongside rotating seasonals and limited releases made at the brewery’s Glynde brewhouse. Named beers in the range include Sunday Session Ale, Flat 5 English Special Bitter, No. 2 Pale Ale, ADL Gold, 14 India Pale Ale and Blue Skies Green Grass East Coast IPA. The brewery also highlights limited releases and collaborations, including Reaching Equilibrium Double IPA and a Coffee Porter made with 1645 Coffee Roasters. The selection gives regulars a reason to return and offers plenty for drinkers who prefer to work through different styles.

Food comes from Reggie’s Detroit Pizzas, which operates from the front of the venue during trading hours for dine-in or takeaway. The pizzas are described as square-cut and baked in a deep steel pan, with a thick, crisp base and cheese pushed to the edge. It is a focused food offering that pairs naturally with the taproom’s beer selection, whether you are settling in for a drink or grabbing something casual to eat.

The taproom also has a regular midweek event: Survey Says, a gameshow-style trivia night held each Wednesday at 6pm. That makes Goodwood a practical option for groups looking for an organised night out, while the laid-back setting also suits a quieter drink or an informal catch-up. Bookings are available, and the venue trades from Wednesday to Sunday, opening at 3pm on Wednesday and Thursday, 2pm on Friday, and noon on Saturday and Sunday.
