AA Bailey Recreation Ground

AA Bailey Recreation Ground is a substantial community sports reserve in Clarence Gardens, within Adelaide’s Mitcham area. The site includes three playing fields, two lawn bowls greens and a cricket turf, making it a working venue for local clubs and organised sport rather than simply an open park. Soccer, rugby, lawn bowls and cricket are played here by Cumberland United, Souths Rugby Union, Clarence Gardens Bowling Club and Sturt Blues.

For visitors not attending a match, the reserve has a useful mix of recreational facilities. There is a junior and youth playground with climbing equipment, swings, a flying fox, spinner, trick skate feature and mound slide, along with a disability-access swing. A gazebo, sheltered seating, picnic area, barbecue facilities and electric BBQs make the grounds suitable for a family outing or a casual gathering, while drinking fountains are provided near the playground and oval.

The reserve also includes club rooms, a shelter, seating and accessible unisex ambulant toilets.
