Grace's Gallery and Gifts

Grace’s Gallery & Gifts is a Glenelg shop celebrating original artwork, handmade gifts and locally produced creative goods. Located at Holdfast Walk, 109/7 Moseley Square, it offers a range that includes digital art greeting cards, inking cards, fine art and Giclée prints, journals, bookmarks, ceramic coasters and trivets, earrings, pendants, keyrings, tote bags, aprons and kitchen textiles. There are also children’s aprons and T-shirts, making it a practical stop for browsing gifts for different ages.

The work at the centre of the shop comes from Grace Lam, a self-taught artist who lives with Down Syndrome, hearing impairment and visual impairment. Grace specialises in digital abstract art, interpreting landscapes, flora and fauna in her own style. Her work has appeared in group exhibitions at the South Australian Living Artists Festival and in several solo exhibitions. Her achievements have also received national recognition: she was a finalist in the 7 News SA Young Achiever Awards in 2021, and the Sydney Opera House began stocking her products in 2022.

Grace’s falcon design is one of her favourite motifs, while journals and earrings are among her preferred product lines. Greeting cards offer an easy starting point for visitors who want to take home a smaller piece of her artwork. The shop’s products are designed and made locally in Australia, and Grace also accepts consignments from local artists and makers, extending the range beyond her own work and supporting other creative businesses.

Grace has designed the space to be accessible and sees the business as a way to challenge assumptions about disability, create opportunities and show what she can achieve through her art.
